Madhava-Ramanujan Ganita-Vijnanotsava, named in honour of two of the greatest mathematicians of India, will be a three-day celebration of mathematics and science by a group of Class V students.

This camp will introduce some of the most exciting ideas in mathematics and science in simple terms to ignite the young minds with curiosity. They will explore the story of light and its relation with atoms and molecules, stars and galaxies. They will experience the scale of the universe and enjoy the beauty of nature by numbers. Through discussions, videos, hands-on experiments, and more, they will explore topics from human DNA to black holes (see the last column on the right-hand side for a flavor of topics).

When and Where: The camp will be held at Rtapalli Vidyapitha (near Bhubaneswar), from 16th to 18th of August, 2019. The students will stay there free of cost, and Rtapalli Vidyapitha will take care of them.

Student Selection : About 35-50 students will be selected through a mathematics test at the level of Manasanka Prashuna prescribed for Class IV and V students of Saraswati Sishu Mandira. The test will be conducted on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at eleven different centers in various districts of Odisha as shown in the table. The application fee of 30 rupees will be collected at the examination center. The top two students from each center will be invited to the camp. Several top scorers from the remaining students will also be invited.
